How often should I change my GE vacuum cleaner filters?
To maintain peak filter performance in your Bissell canister or upright, we recommend that you clean foam filters every 3 months and replace them after 1 or 2 years. For peak performance, replace HEPA filters every 6 to 12 months.
What happens if I don't change the filters?
Your vacuum cleaner will lose suction power and eventually stop picking up dirt when the filters are dirty. Clogged filters also place extra strain on the suction motor that may cause premature motor failure and expensive repairs.
