Why are my bags now a different brand and quantity? It's a bit convoluted. The bottom line is that the bags are still the same and they still fit your vacuum cleaner.

Here's the history: Eureka created the Sanitaire brand in 1972 as its commercial vacuum cleaner division. Some Sanitaire models were derived from Eureka models, such as those that use Eureka MM or Eureka F&G bags. Next, Eureka was acquired by Electrolux in 1974 and merged into the Electrolux product line. However, the Eureka and Sanitaire brands continued under the Electrolux umbrella. Fairly recently, Eureka was sold to a company called Midea in 2016 while Sanitaire was sold to Bissell in 2017. Sanitaire retained the rights to the vacuum cleaners and vacuum bags derived from the common Eureka source. The bags MM, F&G, SL and a few others are now sold under the Sanitaire brand name.

So the former Eureka bags are now labeled as Sanitaire bags. Also, the number of bags per package is now 5 instead of 3 because 5 is the traditional Sanitaire quantity. The good news is that each package contains 2 more bags for not much more than the 3 pack used to cost.

The bag is 10-1/2 inch by 5-7/8 inch. The cardboard collar that attaches to the suction tube is 6-3/4 inch by 6-3/8 inch and has a 2-3/8 inch round opening.
